East China's Jiangsu province held a conference on its youth football realities in the city of Zhangjiagang on June 12.
The conference shared Jiangsu's achievements in promoting football at local primary and middle schools, listed its challenges and difficulties, and suggested some practical methods of improvement to be adopted in the near future.
Li Jinquan, an official at the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, said the province has always taken revitalizing Chinese football as its ultimate goal. As such, Jiangsu has focused on upgrading its youth football architecture in recent years, making football facilities accessible at more campuses, enlarging the faculty team and enhancing their capabilities, and generating vigorous campus football cultures.
He also stressed making balanced and integrated progress while highlighting Jiangsu's distinctive features.
On the sidelines of the conference, attendees paid a visit to several local schools and kindergartens where youth football has yielded tangible results and taken the lead in Jiangsu.
The conference was organized by the Jiangsu provincial departments of education and sports and attended by officials working in related areas.
