Zhanjiang seeks co-op with Germany, Switzerland, and Egypt

Zheng Renhao, Party chief of Zhanjiang, led a delegation to Germany, Switzerland, and Egypt to carry out a series of business investigations and project negotiations from June 2 to 11. 

The Zhanjiang delegation visited the German Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DIHK) and had exchanges with Dr. Eric Schweitzer, president of DIHK and chairman of the European Green Insurance Group. The visit was aimed at promoting industrial cooperation between Zhanjiang and Germany, as well as a way for Zhangjiang to learn from the advanced experience and technology of German environmental protection companies in waste sorting and renewable resource management.

The delegation visited the BASF integrated base and had negotiations with the group's senior management team. Zheng expects that BASF will bring the most advanced technology, optimized process flow, and the highest standard of environmental protection measures to Zhanjiang, participating in the safety management planning of the Donghai Island Petrochemical Park to build a world-class petrochemical park with Zhanjiang.

In Switzerland, the delegation visited Bruderer AG to learn from their advanced experience for Zhangjiang's development of its high-end manufacturing industry. The Zhanjiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade signed a framework cooperation agreement with the Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce. The delegation also learned advanced practices in ecological farming, mechanization, and farm management by visiting an integrated family farm in Arbon.

On June 9, the delegation visited the Egyptian National Fisheries Industrial Park. While there, the two parties reached a preliminary intention to cooperate on expanding aquaculture in deep-water cages. In order to expand the cooperation with Egypt, the Zhanjiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade also signed a framework cooperation agreement with the China-Arab Economic and Cultural Federation to promote cooperation between the two sides.
