The Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) recently introduced a computational finance major in order to cultivate computer and financial talents.
The world’s first international computational finance course was introduced at Carnegie Mellon University in 1994, and the Harbin Institute of Technology is the first Chinese university to introduce the major.
The major focuses on using mathematical models, computer data organization, and data analysis tools to solve complex problems in the financial field.
Students will learn about management science, computer theory, big data technology, artificial intelligence, mathematics, and statistical theories and methods.
Graduates will be qualified for jobs involving financial investment, trading, decision analysis, and other related work at financial securities investment and trading institutions. They will also have the opportunity to become advanced research and senior professional management talents in related fields such as computer science, economics, and management science.
