Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital affiliated to Xiamen University, also referred to as Xiamen Heart Center, was put into service after relocating to its new address on June 7, local media reported.
With a total area of 86,000 square meters, the newly-relocated hospital houses 600 beds, 350 of which are available now.
The hospital is expected to handle 3,000 daily visits, six times as many as the old one in Siming district.
On June 8, the first day of the hospital's emergency service, the emergency center received more than 20 patients, admitted six patients and performed four emergency surgeries.
Just 2 hours after the emergency center opened, an 81-year-old patient, surnamed Li, was transferred from another hospital and received access to the green channel for emergency.
It only took 18 minutes from the moment the patient was delivered to the hospital for her blocked blood vessels to be cleared by the doctor in charge. She is now out of danger currently in recovery.
Wang Yan, director of the hospital, said that the hospital will offer local residents high-standard health services.
The hospital values the combination of high-end technologies and humane care. Professional nursing services from the hospital will relieve pain among patients and reduce the burden on their relatives as well.
