From January to April, the total value of imports and exports of Zhanjiang to Russia was 3.13 billion yuan ($452.54 million), a 3.3 times year-on-year increase. Among them, exports totaled 140 million yuan, up 4.2 percent year-on-year, and imports were 2.99 billion yuan, up 4 times year-on-year.
In the first quarter of this year, the total trade volume to Russia by general trade was 1.84 billion yuan, a 1.5 times year-on-year increase, accounting for 58.9 percent of the total value of imports and exports of Zhanjiang to Russia. In the same period, the import and export of bonded logistics brought in 1.27 billion yuan.
State-owned enterprises were the primary force, as they traded 2.9 billion yuan with Russia, a 6.3 times increase, accounting for 92.7 percent of the total foreign trade to Russia.
Zhanjiang exported 16.52 million yuan of aquatic products to Russia, accounting for 46.7 percent of the total value. The export of mechanical and electrical products was 44.93 million yuan, an increase of 37.6 percent, and the export of clothing and accessories was 22.58 million yuan, an increase of 1.7 times.
From January to April, Zhanjiang imported 2.76 billion yuan of crude oil from Russia, a 7.5 times increase, accounting for 92.3 percent of the total value of Russian imports. Imported fertilizers were 230 million yuan, an increase of 1.6 times, accounting for 7.6 percent of the total value.
