Starting from July 10, a pair of high-speed bullet trains will be launched every day between Nanning, Guangxi and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, with a total running time of 3 hours and 59 minutes.
Traffic connection is an important way for Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region to connect with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. To date, more than 130 trains run between 12 cities in Guangxi and the Guangdong province cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen every day. The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway opened on Sept 23, 2018, and also connects Hong Kong with Guilin, Guangxi.
The train numbers of the Nanning-Hong Kong high-speed trains are G417/G418. The train G417 departs from Nanning East Railway Station at 11:14 every day and arrives at West Kowloon Station at 15:13. The G418 returns from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station at 15:33 and arrives at Nanning East Railway Station at 19:32.
The opening of the Nanning-Hong Kong high-speed train is the first time that the two places have been connected directly. It will play a leading role in the comprehensive connecting of Guangxi and the Greater Bay Area, and will further strengthen the economic and cultural exchanges between the two areas.
