International venture week to be held in Suzhou

The 11th Venture Week for International Elites in Suzhou is set to be held from July 9 to 14 at the Suzhou International Exhibition Center.

Since 2009, the event has been held every July. Themed with “gathering global talents, creating entrepreneurship paradise”, it is a high-end platform for introducing international talents to Suzhou.

Over the past ten years, the platform has played a vital role in the city’s industrial upgrading and restructuring as reflected by the following statistics. The platform has led to 4,737 projects being settled in Suzhou. The registered capital for entrepreneurship projects has reached 36.4 billion yuan ($5.26 billion), and more than 400 leading talents have been introduced and cultivated.

The 2018 Venture Week for International Elites was held from July 10 to 12 with the main venue at the Suzhou International Exhibition Center and sub-venues in 10 counties and districts, as well as oversea venues in North America, Japan and South Korea. The event attracted 4,618 participants from more than 20 countries and regions. They brought 5,097 projects.

The event features more than 20 activities in six categories such as the opening ceremony, promotion and negotiation, and innovation and entrepreneurship competitions.

Emerging industries including nanotech, new generation technology and high-end equipment manufacturing are given top priority at the event, especially the leading industries of artificial intelligence, internet and big data.
