Foreign trade of agricultural products to ASEAN nations reaches 440m yuan

The total foreign trade value of agricultural products from Zhanjiang customs territory to ASEAN nations was worth 440 million yuan ($63.65 million) in the first four months of 2019, a year-on-year increase of 45.6 percent. Exports totaled 210 million yuan, an increase of 21.1 percent, and imports totaled 230 million yuan, an increase of 79.4 percent. 

Zhanjiang customs has adopted a series of measures to promote trade facilitation. It has sorted out a list of agricultural products enterprises in its territory, providing information consulting services for these enterprises and timely informing them about ASEAN countries' agricultural products industry policy standards and quarantine requirements, helping enterprises cope with technical trade barriers. 

In addition, Zhanjiang customs has improved the efficiency of quarantine examination and approval. It provides convenient services, such as appointment clearance and rapid certificate issuance. It also applies information technology to strengthen the supervision of export agricultural products. For main export products, such as aquatic products, the overall clearance time has been reduced from 140 hours to less than 24 hours. 

Zhanjiang customs has also better served the Guangdong-ASEAN Agricultural Trade Fair by setting up green channels for exhibiting materials. It has provided fast and convenient clearance services for inbound exhibits.
