Jinan, East China's Shandong province hosted a promotional conference in Shanghai on May 30, in an attempt to seek more cooperative opportunities.
A total of 40 projects worth 112.7 billion yuan ($16.8 billion) were inked at the conference, covering high-end areas such as intelligent manufacturing, high-end equipment, biological medicine, industrial finance, modern logistics and cultural tourism.
Most of the projects were made with Fortune Global 500 companies and transnational corporations in Shanghai.
Wang Zhonglin, Party secretary of Jinan, made a speech welcoming the guests. He expressed the hope that more companies will tap into the city's burgeoning potential.
Jinan, one of China's megalopolises and deputy provincial cities, is racing ahead with reform and opening-up and pushing forward with investment and high-quality growth.
Fortune Global 500 companies boast a large number of high-end talents, abundant capital, and technology, all of which play a significant role in local economic development.
Jinan has been attaching great importance to cooperation with famous companies at home and abroad to fuel the city's development.
At the conference, representatives of Deloitte US, an accounting organization that works with Fortune 500 companies, Sumitomo Corporation, Japan's largest steel producer, and Royal DSM, a Dutch multinational science-based company, also made speeches.
They spoke highly of Jinan's business environment and were willing to cooperate with the city in more fields to achieve mutual benefits.
