New media platform in Hechi helps poverty alleviation

The New Media Federation of Jinchengjiang district, Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, has made great achievements in relieving poverty in the city since it was established on Dec 30, 2016. 

Guided and led by the united front work department and the federation of industry and commerce of Jinchengjiang district, more than 200 publicity reports on poverty alleviation have so far been made in the last two years. 

The Federation helped poor households in Dongjiang town, Jinchengjiang district in 2017. In response to the people's weak awareness of health, eliminating poverty caused by serious illness, and an emphasis on personal physical condition, the Federation joined hands with a pharmaceutical company to freely carry out physical examinations, apply acupuncture treatments and disseminate health knowledge. Meanwhile, the Federation also reported on the deeds of poor patients, helping them by attracting public attention through media power.

In addition, the Federation also acts to help the masses fully understand the national policy and determination on poverty alleviation. Poor households who encounter difficulties in employment and difficulties in selling agricultural products can seek the help of the Federation. The Federation will connect the relevant enterprises and e-commerce platforms to solve practical problems. It will also guide farmers and growers to establish brand awareness, focus on product quality and service, and establish an industrialization mechanism.

The Federation has now started helping people sell local agricultural products through several activities to increase their income.
