Shanxi province and Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong province signed eight projects at a cooperation seminar in Shenzhen on May 31, marking a new stage of the already lucrative partnership between the two regions.
The eight projects involve green construction, environmental protection, farm produce development, entertainment and technological research and development.
The two regions signed a strategic partnership agreement on March 19 to carry out all-round collaboration.
"We hope that the two regions will further cooperation on manufacturing, commercialization of technological achievements, modern finance, opening up, environmental protection, urban management and talent," said Zhao Youting, deputy director of the Shanxi Development and Reform Commission, at the seminar.
Yu Jing, deputy director of the Shenzhen development and reform commission, briefed advances that are being made under the partnership framework between the two regions.
Officials said Shenzhen will now strengthen its government affairs cooperation with Shanxi, encourage business matching among companies, universities and institutes -- promoting communications between entrepreneurs and think tanks in two regions.
Collaboration in key industries such as advanced manufacturing, energy, health, modern services and the finance sectors will be furthered. In addition, the city will support science and industrial parks to conduct innovation cooperation.
