Zhanjiang students who take the annual national college entrance examination, also known as gaokao, which will be held from June 7-9, will be enabled to use facial recognition admission for the first time this year.
The city has invested more than 8 million yuan ($1.16 million) to upgrade the examination and control system, as well as the security system through measures that include the facial recognition system. It is a more reliable and convenient authentication method based on the original identity authentication terminal software. Candidates will first check their ID card when entering the venue, and then go for facial recognition. The entrance verification time of the entire examination room will be shortened by nearly half, compared to the past.
In addition, if the candidate forgets to bring his or her admission card or the resident ID card, he or she can use facial recognition to enter the room after explaining their circumstances to the invigilator.
