Jiutai district’s growth impresses media delegation

A delegation made up of representatives from more than 10 media organizations visited Changchun’s Jiutai district in Northeast China’s Jilin province on May 27. The event was organized by the publicity department of the CPC Changchun Committee.

The media delegation traveled across the district and learned about Jiutai’s achievements in economic growth, rural revitalization, improving living standards, and protecting intangible cultural heritage.

The first stops in their visit were two local enterprises.

Corning Jerry (Jilin) Bio-technology Co Ltd, which has received 30 million yuan ($4.34 million) in orders since October 2018, and Jason Gypsum Board (Changchun) Co Ltd, which produces about 150 quarter meters of gypsum boards per year, provide a significant boost to the district’s economic growth.

While visiting local villages, the delegation learned about the district’s progress in improving people’s living standards and happiness. According to the local district, several social projects are currently underway, including construction of a culture and sports center and a people’s hospital.

The delegation also visited a local farmers’ professional cooperative for paper products, giving them a taste of Jiutai district’s intangible cultural heritage.

It has been reported that Jiutai district plans to invest a total of 390 million yuan into 40 social projects, involving social security, urban development, and environmental protection.
