The Jiande workstation of the Shanghai Academician Center was inaugurated in Jiande city, Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on May 26.
As part of an effort to provide intellectual support for Jiande's integration into the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region, the joint-venture is designed to boost the economic transformation of the city by providing consulting services and talents for major engineering and technological problems.
The newly-established workstation serves as a platform for academicians to learn about Jiande and is expected to further cooperation between the two sides, said Gu Xixin, vice director of Shanghai Academician Center.
With over 170 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Shanghai Academician Center has provided quality consultations for the city in several major areas, including the integrated development of the YRD region, artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, biomedicine, and urban governance.
To date, Hangzhou has forged partnerships with several world-renowned universities and established five research institutes, two provincial research and development (R&D) centers and seven R&D centers for high-tech enterprises.
