Many achievements have been made during the International Medical Innovation and Cooperation Forum (China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization), which concluded in Fangchenggang, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on May 28.
The Fangchenggang Proclamation was released to advance medical innovation and cooperation with enhanced exchanges. Wide consensus was reached on issues related to disaster relief, disease prevention and control, medical services, health management, medical staff exchanges, medical education, and scientific research.
A proposal on building an international medical opening-up pilot zone in Fangchenggang was approved. It will include an international medical healthcare area and a pharmaceutical manufacturing area with industrial parks that include Europe and America, Russia, and Sino-India cooperation.
In addition, Shanghai University of Medicine & Health Sciences agreed with Technological University of the Philippines to invest and build an international nursing and health management school in Fangchenggang. The Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University also reached an agreement of intent with an Indian institute to invest in building an international eye medical center in Fangchenggang .
