Base cited for fostering young Macao entrepreneurs

Macao-Hengqin Youth Entrepreneurship Valley (Inno Valley HQ) has just been designated a Guangdong-Macao Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Base for having incubated hundreds of companies over the years.

The honor was given at a promotion event in Macao on May 27. Guangzhou-based Guangdong-Macao Young Entrepreneurs International Industry Accelerator and PFM Torch Innovation Park in Zhongshan were also placed on the first-batch national list.

The Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR made the selection to encourage Macao youths to innovate and start ventures in the Greater Bay New Area.

Located in the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) Hengqin Area of Zhuhai, Inno Valley HQ is an innovative industrial base and talent accumulation center for youths from both Macao and the Chinese mainland.

During nearly four years of operation, 346 projects have been incubated, including 185 from Macao. Forty-one high-tech enterprises were cultivated and introduced, 23 of which have obtained venture capital funds with financing exceeding 433 million yuan ($63 million).

Among the numerous honorary titles and awards Inno Valley HQ holds, Guangdong Provincial Demonstration Base for Entrepreneurship Incubation and National Developer of Sci-tech Business Incubator are most outstanding.
