The 2019 Guangdong-ASEAN Agricultural Trade Expo is slated to be held in Zhanjiang from May 30 to June 2, with over 1,200 companies to showcase their produces and latest agricultural technologies.
The Guangdong-ASEAN Agricultural Trade Expo is a platform aimed at boosting agricultural exchanges and cooperation, and enhancing cooperation in the fields of planting, breeding, processing, and circulation technologies, as well as for services, markets, talent exchanges between China, ASEAN countries, and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
The Guangdong-ASEAN Agricultural Trade Expo was officially launched in 2016 and has been held in Zhanjiang annually. After several years of development, the expo has developed into a new brand for agricultural exchanges and cooperation between Guangdong and ASEAN countries.
In 2019, the expo has attracted 1,272 enterprises from 35 countries, including 382 foreign companies, as well as 61 national leading enterprises and listed companies.
It has set up a special exhibition area for ASEAN countries, a BRI countries exhibition area, a poverty alleviation exhibition area, a Guangdong exhibition area, a China exhibition area, a smart agriculture exhibition area, and a food festival zone.
During the expo, the 2019 China Sea Rice Development Forum, promotion meetings for agricultural products from BRI countries, matchmaking meetings for buyers and sellers, and other activities will be held.
This year's event will also be more international, with exhibitors coming from 35 countries and three national pavilions being established: the Cambodia Pavilion, the Vietnam Pavilion, and the New Zealand Pavilion.
