NANJING - "Jiangsu Day," showcasing the poetic and picturesque scenery of East China's Jiangsu province will be observed starting on Sunday at the ongoing International Horticultural Exhibition in Beijing.
The event, themed "A Poetic and Picturesque Province" will last for three days, presenting the natural environment, traditional culture, arts and horticultural achievements of the province.
The Jiangsu Garden, covering an area of 2,800 square meters, is designed using elements of classical Chinese gardens in the city of Suzhou, which were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Traditional handicrafts such as Suzhou embroidery and Nanjing brocade are also displayed in the garden.
The Jiangsu Garden has received more than 200,000 visits over the past month.
The Beijing horticultural expo, themed "Live Green, Live Better," is the world's largest expo of its kind and opened to the public on April 29 in Yanqing district. It will last until Oct 7.
