The 3rd women's half-marathon kicked off in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province, on May 27, with more than 3,000 runners participating.
Hosted by the Shenhe district government, this year's event included a half-marathon (21.0975 kilometers), a 10-km run, and a 5-km run.
The route started at Wilihe Park in Shenhe district, allowing runners to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the banks of the Hunhe River.
The event began in 2017 and is the only women's marathon in Northeast China. It is meant to encourage more women to participate in marathons and promote a healthy lifestyle.
According to organizers, services at the event will be improved, and more people are expected to participate in the event next year.
