The founding conference for the International Alliance of Textile and Fashion Vocational Education was held at the Jiangsu College of Engineering and Technology (JCET) in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province from May 25 to 26.
The alliance was set up with the aim of promoting international commerce -- and cooperation between companies and universities -- in the textiles industry.
With the China Textile and Apparel Education Society and JCET as director units, members of the alliance include 14 international universities, 17 Chinese universities and more than 20 textiles companies from home and abroad.
The founding conference attracted experts and business representatives from 17 countries, including China, Kenya and Italy, to discuss the industrial development and training of top level workers.
The event also witnessed the establishment of the International Alliance of Defending Dyeing Artists, which held its first exhibition at the Five-Three Art Museum featuring more than 127 artworks by artists, college teachers and students from countries including Germany, Austria, Belgium and Japan.
