According to local media reports, a numismatic museum was opened in Lushunkou, Dalian, a city in Northeast China's Liaoning province, on May 28.
The museum was built at the former site of the Russo-Chinese Bank (Dalian's first foreign financial institution established by Tsarist Russia in 1898) and is the first numismatic museum in Dalian.
The museum displays currency and bonds issued and circulated throughout China during Tsarist Russian and Japanese colonial rule, as well as coins introduced to China by countries involved in the ancient maritime silk road. There are also many rare coins on display at the museum.
