The 15th China (Wuxi) International Design Expo kicked off in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on May 25. It will last until May 27.
Co-hosted by the National Science and Technology Department, Jiangsu provincial government and the State Intellectual Property Office, the expo invited well-known enterprises, design institutions and associations from at home and abroad.
Themed on "New Design, New Smart Manufacturing, New Life", the three-day expo included one opening ceremony, five forums, the final of the 8th Taihu Award Design Competition and an exhibition in Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center.

During the opening ceremony, Wuxi Mayor Huang Qin said Wuxi is always promoting patent protection for intellectual property and the integration of design and transformation in the manufacturing industry.
Wang Binying, deputy director-general of the World Intellectual Property Organization, said: "I am glad to see the achievements made by Wuxi, particularly in the area of industrial design. Industrial design is one of the most important IP elements."
An exhibition covering an area of 23,400 square meters was also held at the same time. Divided into three pavilions, focusing on smart life, smart transport and design works, the exhibition was designed to show how intelligent design can integrate with daily life and change people's lifestyles.
