A promotional campaign aiming to promote Shandong tourism culture was held in Yantai on May 23, ahead of the second World Senior Tourism Congress (WSTC).
Zhang Mingchi, deputy director of the Shandong provincial department of culture and tourism, made a keynote speech emphasizing the importance of improving senior tourism.

The congress is of great significance in promoting local cultural and tourism industry development and also helps enrich the lives of the elderly across the world.
François Vellas, the president of the International Association of the University for the Aged, noted that senior tourism with its unique requirements will play a more important role in promoting cultural exchanges across the world.
With an increasing elder population, the senior tourism industry is attracting more attention. The event will provide solid support for its further development.
During the event, a wide range of featured cultural products and intangible cultural heritage projects from 16 cities of Shandong province were on display, attracting lots of attention from guests from home and abroad.
