Xiamen in East China's Fujian province recently identified another 31 municipal-level maker spaces, according to the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology.
These newly identified maker spaces mainly involve the fields of artificial intelligence, internet of things, new materials and cultural creativity.
In January this year, the local science and technology bureau released administrative measures to better manage the municipal maker spaces.
As of now, Xiamen is home to 219 municipal maker spaces which are incubating 4,780 startup teams and has offered 23,890 jobs and nurtured 150 national high-tech businesses and 12 listed companies.
Some 740 startup teams from Taiwan have been attracted by the maker spaces in the city, accounting for more than 15 percent of the city's startup teams.
