Deputy minister of agriculture in Vietnam led a delegation to visit Xiamen, Fujian province from May 21 to 23, aiming to promote agricultural cooperation with the Chinese city.
Zhang Yigong, deputy mayor of Xiamen, briefed them on the city's basic situations and its agricultural development.
Zhang said that Xiamen has laid a solid foundation for the import and export of agricultural products with Vietnam, hoping that the two sides will take the meeting as a good opportunity to further their cooperation in various other fields, such as tourism and port.
The deputy minister said that he was deeply impressed by Xiamen's excellent ecological environment and beautiful coastline.
He expected the produce made in Vietnam to be transported to Xiamen by sea and then exported to other places.
He also revealed that Vietnamese companies are looking forward to attending all the investment promotion activities held in Xiamen and to establishing sound cooperation relations with more local counterparts.
