The 15th China (Wuxi) International Design Expo will bring the latest technological trends to Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, during an event being held from May 25 to 27.
Themed "New Design, New Smart Manufacturing, New Life", the expo will include one opening ceremony, five forums, the final of the 8th Taihu Award Design Competition and an exhibition in Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center.
The three-day exposition will display works covering home furnishings, digital devices, building materials and scientific research, offering innovative insights into the fascinating art of design.

Covering an area of 23,400 square meters, the exhibition will be divided into three pavilions focusing on smart life, smart transport and design works. Business giants, including household appliances producer Little Swan, drone maker DJI and China's largest in-home robotic products manufacturer, Ecovacs Robotics Co, will display their cutting-edge innovative products.
Five forums will invite guests to talk about the relationship and development between design, culture and technology. Included in the agenda is the summit on legal protection for industrial design. Sponsored by the World Intellectual Property Organization, it will focus on figuring out solutions to the lack of research and lawmaking in industrial design.

The winner of the 8th Taihu Award Design Competition will be determined during the two-day road show from among 72 teams, the finalists chosen from 6,508 total entrants. All the 72 works have been checked by Wuxi (National) Design Patent Information Center to guarantee their originality.
The total prize money for this year's winner will reach one million yuan ($144,919), half in cash and half to support the winner's application and development in Wuxi.
Sun Haidong, director of Wuxi Science and Technology Bureau, described the competition as a platform to promote the innovation and development of industrial upgrading through the gathering of sci-tech information resources.
