Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province recently announced 10 projects to renovate its ancient downtown area.
Pathway to connect ancient scenic spots
A beautiful pathway will be paved to connect Shuiting Street, Xianxi Street, Beimen Street and Temple of Southern Confucianism together and tourists may visit all the main ancient streets in the city while strolling on the road.
Supporting facilities at Confucian culture area
To the west and south of the Fushan Park, more hotels and tourists facilities will be constructed, the existing ecological landscape will be improved and the Chenghuang or City God Temple and Drum Tower will be rebuilt.
Nanhu Square
The existing Nanhu Square is now positioned as the Reception Hall of Quzhou, a tourist distribution center, a public service center, an activity center and a park-and-ride center.
Resettlement project
A new community will be constructed for residents moving out from the ancient downtown Quzhou, where they may live a convenient life.
Nanhu Lake riverside landscape renovation
Two arch bridges will be erected along the Nanhu Lake, the Doutan Lake will be dredged, and a park to the south of the Doutan Lake will be expanded.
