Wuhan Airport Economic Development Zone

The predecessor of the zone was the Wuhan Wujiashan Taiwanese Investment Zone founded in 1992. It was renamed Wuhan Wujiashan Economic Development Zone in 2010 and then upgraded to a national-level zone in the same year. It got its present name in May 2013.

The zone is next door to the Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and lies mostly within a radius of 15 km from the airport. Aircraft maintenance is the zone's traditional industry, represented by such enterprises as CASIC Sanjiang, Lingyun Science & Technology Group Co Ltd and Wuhan Hangda Aero Science & Technology Development Co Ltd.

Since 2017, the zone has welcomed big-name companies such as BOE and Corning, leading to the formation of several 100-billion-yuan industrial clusters including high-end chips, new display screens, network information and big data, smart manufacturing, new energy, healthcare, airport services and new retail sales.
