Quzhou port greets first cargo ship from Ningbo-Zhoushan port

The event signifies that the Quzhou port, the farthest inland port from the sea in Zhejiang, is open to traffic with its largest counterpart in the world.

The Qiaotoujiang working zone is the only public pier in Quzhou and Jinhua cities and is also the first 500-ton pier in the middle and upper reaches of the Qiantang River, a mother river of Zhejiang.

The zone is designed to construct 14 berths capable of handling 500 tons of bulk cargo, breakbulk cargo and containers with an overall length of 880 meters and annual throughput capacity of 5.15 million tons.

In early January, its first three berths were put into operation.

To date, the Qiantoujiang working zone has cooperated with three ports in Jiaxing, Taicang and Zhenhai, launched two routes and handled 12,000 tons of cargo.
