Ereenhot and Baotou, cities in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, jointly held a promotional conference on trade and tourism at the Beijing International Horticultural Expo in Beijing on May 17.
As an important part of the expo's "Inner Mongolia Day", the conference aims to develop and strengthen interregional trade and tourism and expand areas of cooperation.
Liu Zhiping, mayor of Ereenhot, explained the general socioeonomic development situation of the city, the construction of the China-Mongolia economic cooperation zone, the development situations of key industries, and local tourism products.
Hu Zhengbing, vice-mayor of Baotou, said that Baotou is the largest industrial city in the region. It is rich in strategic resources, has a complete industrial system, a solid scientific and technological foundation, a profound cultural background, a livable urban environment, an advantageous location, and convenient opening conditions.
At the conference, many companies signed contracts with the two cities and reached dozens of cooperation agreements.
Ereenhot, as the largest state port to Mongolia, important nodal cities of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Sino-Mongolian-Russian Economic Corridor, and national key development and experimental zones, is natural partner for Baotou in economic development. And these two cities have already built a solid foundation for cooperation in iron and steel metallurgy. In near future, the two sides will cooperate in economic and trade logistics, processing and manufacturing, cultural tourism, and other industries.
Enterprises attending the conference were encouraged to actively cooperate to find areas of common development and potential areas of cooperation between the two cities in order to promote industrial transformation and upgrading, accelerate the transformation of old and new kinetic energy, and achieve the high-quality economic development of cities throughout the region.
