Border escalator bottlenecks likely during peak hours

Three escalators at the Macao Frontier Post exit to Gongbei are out of service for two months while new ones are being installed, according to the Immigration Department of the Public Security Police Force of Macau.

Courtesy passages for those who require assistance have been placed by police at the departure lanes since May 15.

Currently, the arrival corridor of Gongbei Checkpoint is also under construction. Immigration authorities of the two places will maintain close contact during peak passage times.   

Travelers returning to Zhuhai from Macao are advised to avoid peak periods while being considerate of the elderly and children.
