Scientific achievements from Binhu win provincial awards

Five scientific and technological projects in Binhu district won 2018 Provincial Science and Technology Awards on May 10, according to the Science and Technology Bureau of Binhu.

The awards show that the district has developed a number of core technologies with independent intellectual property rights in fields including intelligent manufacturing, healthcare and ship power, which are conducive to the development of emerging industries.

Among them, the project using key technologies to install robots on assembly lines, developed by Wuxi BEST Co, won the first prize.

Chen Bin, deputy general manager of Wuxi BEST Co said the company has increased investment in scientific research into intelligent manufacturing in recent years. Last year, the investment reached 33 million yuan ($5.32 million), accounting for 4.51 percent of total sales, a year-on-year increase of 24.38 percent.
