Dongxing of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region promoted its investment environment, along with its neighboring Vietnamese city, Mong Cai, at a conference in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on May 16.
Strengthening regional cooperation is essential to building a community with a shared future. Hangzhou is a core city in the Yangtze River Delta, while Dongxing serves as China's gateway to ASEAN countries, and Mong Cai is the largest and most open port gate economic zone in northern Vietnam. The three node cities along the Belt and Road can make full use of their complementary advantages through collaboration, said Zhou Shijun, Party secretary of Dongxing, in his speech.
Mong Cai is steeped with development prospects due to the preferential policies it enjoys as a port gate economic zone. It will team up with Dongxing to bolster themselves as two demonstration zones featuring all-around cooperation on the Sino-Vietnam boundary, according to Vu Van Kinh, chairman of the People's Committee of Mong Cai.
A total of 150 enterprises from Zhejiang, Dongxing, and Mong Cai attended the conference, three of which inked cooperation agreements the same day.
