Dalian Import & Export Commodities Fair kicks off

The 33rd Dalian Import & Export Commodities Fair opened at Dalian World Expo Square on May 16, and will last until May 19.

The fair, hosted by the branch in Dalian of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Dalian Chamber of International Commerce, is themed on "making friends, promoting trade, expanding market, cooperation and mutual benefits".

The fair covers an area of 15,000 square meters, featuring a display of food and beverage, skin care and cosmetics, handicraft, home decoration, jewelry and jade, clothing and accessories, lifestyle and tourism culture, as well as investment promotion. 

A wide array of activities including economic and trade negotiation, policy promotion, cultural performance, appreciation experience and interactive games will also be held during the fair.

Nearly 500 renowned enterprises from 40 countries and regions including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Russia, the Netherlands, Poland, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Egypt, Ghana and Cameroon, exhibit thousands of special commodities in the fair. Both the number of participating countries and exhibits reached a new record.

The fair will further expand and deepen the exchanges and cooperation between Dalian and the countries and enterprises along the "Belt and Road Initiative" (BRI). According to the statistics, a total of 29 countries along the BRI participated in the fair, an increase of 61 percent compared to the previous year.

The fair has also set up a cross-border e-commerce exhibition area, attracting a total of 11 local major e-commerce enterprises. The participating e-commerce enterprises also built an all-round B2B-B2C exhibition and trading platform for product suppliers, network retailers, e-commerce service providers and e-commerce consumers, concentrating on the latest cross-border e-commerce research and development, application results, technology products as well as e-commerce commodities.

Free exhibition booths are also provided for poverty-stricken areas such as Liupanshui in Guizhou province, Xingshan county in Hubei province, Shihezi in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and Chaoyang in Liaoning province, which offers unique green organic products and high-quality agricultural products to the visitors on the spot.
