Founded in 1952, Harbin University of Commerce (HUC) is a higher education institution located in the metropolis of Harbin, Heilongjiang. HUC offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

It was formerly the first multidisciplinary university of commerce in China, and has now become one of the ten universities entitled for construction priorities in Heilongjiang Province. 

Harbin University of Commerce boasts two campuses with a total area of 1.13 million square meters, and a school building area of 600,300 sq m. HUC is authorized as the conferment of doctor's and master's degrees and the right to send excellent undergraduates for postgraduate program without any entrance examinations. As one of the universities accepting foreign students with national authorization, it currently enrolls over 19,274 students.

The university lays stress on undergraduate education, positively develops postgraduate education, and stabilizes the advanced vocational education and continual education. HUC comprises 16 colleges and two teaching departments, which covers seven disciplines of economics, management, engineering, science, law, humanities, and medicine, offering 39 bachelor-degree programs. In addition, HUC also offers several second bachelor's degrees and some auxiliary curriculums.

After years of development, the University formed reasonably structure, abundant experience, and the academic attainments teacher's troop. The University currently has over 1,550 faculty members. The university has also invited well-known experts, scholars and enterprisers as guest professors, and perennially retains specialists from the United Kingdom (UK), Japan and Russia.

It has established international exchange and cooperation with Thames Valley University, Leeds University and Napier the University in the UK to raise undergraduate course and master studies projects. The university also jointly raises the bachelor's degree talented person project with Schiller International University in the United States, with Australian Victoria University and Japanese Fisheries University, the Okayama University sends the teacher mutually and trains master degree project jointly.
