More than 200 sculptures by modern and contemporary Chinese artists will be shown at an exhibition titled Classics of the Time, which will open at the Heilan Art Museum in Jiangsu province on Sept 27.
The exhibition, which marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China, will trace the evolution of Chinese sculptures since 1949, which began with a dominating, realistic style, before gradually embracing a more abstract output.
Heilan Art Museum is a private institution in the city of Jiangyin, operated by Heilan Group an enterprise mainly engaging in textile and garment industries. The exhibition runs through Nov 27.
