Wuxi Mayor Huang Qin led an economic and trade delegation to Al Ain, the fourth-largest city of the United Arab Emirates, on May 12 to 14 local time.
The two city heads exchanged ideas on economic cooperation and agreed to deepen their ties in the future.
During a conference held on May 12, Huang signed the partnership agreement with his counterpart in Al Ain.
The two sides hope to mutually benefit from the agreement and achieve comprehensive cooperation on information technology, aerospace manufacturing, city planning, innovation and entrepreneurship, and culture and tourism.
Al Ain is known as the "Garden City" due to its greenery, particularly with regards to the city's oases, parks, tree-lined avenues and decorative roundabouts. The city has strict controls regarding buildings, which can have no more than seven floors.
According to Huang, Al Ain is the first city in the United Arab Emirates to build friendly cooperative ties with Wuxi. Wuxi will strengthen the construction of its business environment and give full support to foreign enterprises looking to invest.
The Wuxi delegation also visited the Ministry of Health in the UAE to promote cooperation on medical health on May 13. Huang invited the ministry to take part in the smart medical forum of the fourth World Internet of Things Expo.
Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand from the Ministry of Health was impressed by the medical projects he saw during last year's expo. He hoped to learn from Wuxi on smart hospital construction and cooperate more on health policies and foreign hospital construction.
