The College of Humanities and College of Journalism & Communication at Jilin University signed a cooperation agreement with the Jilin branch of Xinhuanet on May 14 to establish a training center for university students.
The signing ceremony, held at Jilin University, was attended by people such as Kang Yonggang, Party chief of Jilin University's College of Humanities, Xu Zhengkao, director of the College of Humanities and the College of Journalism & Communication, and Liao Xiaohua, deputy general manager of the Jilin branch of Xinhuanet.
Xu said at the ceremony that Jilin University had cultivated a number of high-end professionals in the media sector, and that the establishment of the center would help more students learn about advanced technology in the media sector.
Liao said that more than 20 responsible and hardworking students from the College of Humanities are now interning at the company.
He expressed hope that the new center would help train more versatile media workers.
Following the ceremony, students talked with representatives from the company to learn about the media industry.
