2. Zhuzhu Festival
The annual Zhuzhu Festival falls on the 29th day of the fifth month in the lunar calendar in honor of Miluotuo, the Mother of the Yao ethnic group. A wide variety of activities are held to celebrate the festival, including playing bronze drums, singing folk songs, visiting Yao villages, and a variety of folk customs and cultural performances. The most important program in the festival is playing bronze drums and dancing to the beat, where the best dancer is awarded as "King Drummer". The ceremony offers visitors the profound cultural riches and local ethnic customs of the Yao people.
