Baotou to introduce monocrystalline silicon project

Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, will cooperate with Wuxi Shangji Numerical Control Co to build a monocrystalline silicon crystal pulling production center. An agreement was signed between the two parties on May 13, according to Baotou Daily.

The center will be built in the Baotou Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park. It is expected to receive 3 billion yuan ($437 million) in investment, which will mainly go into 5GW production-scale monocrystalline silicon crystal pulling and supporting facilities.

The production center is expected to achieve an annual output value of 3 billion yuan and generate more than 100 million yuan in profit and taxes.
