Jiangsu's provincial capital Nanjing launched its annual conference on international exchange and communication for overseas Chinese professionals on May 8-9.
The 12th edition, this year's event drew the participation of 1,200 professionals from 30 countries for a variety of innovative and entrepreneurial exhibitions, talks and cooperative exchange.
Aside from the Municipal Party Secretary Zhang Jinghua sharing Nanjing's industrial, educational and scientific capabilities, the city's growing financial support for talent has also increased its attractiveness to overseas professionals.
A trump card of Nanjing, the event enjoyed the same popularity as those in North China's Dalian city and South China's Guangzhou city, and has laid a solid foundation with its former 11 editions, introducing over 4,500 overseas talents and settling more than 1,850 technological programs in Nanjing.
Jiangsu cities such as Suzhou and Wuxi have also set up platforms to acclimatize talents from abroad, which, in combination with the Nanjing event, attract more than 10,000 overseas professionals to the province every year.
