The city of Ordos in Inner Mongolia autonomous region staged another tourism road show – part of a series -- in Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi province, from April 30 to May 2.
The event brought together more than 300 participants, including representatives from tourism authorities and travel agencies, both in Xi’an and Ordos.
The Ordos Bureau of Culture and Tourism made a presentation showcasing the city’s many tourism attractions -- including the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan, the Resonant Sand Gorge, Kangbashi district, the Ordos grasslands and the Seven-star Lake.
On the evening of April 30, members of the Ordos Ulan Muqir Art Troupe gave a wonderful performance featuring Inner Mongolia cultural elements.
Xi’an is one of the oldest cities in China, and one of the four historical and cultural capitals of China. The other three are Beijing, Nanjing and Luoyang.
Boasting a rich and culturally significant history, Xi’an is the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and home to the Terracotta Army.
Ordos is one the most prosperous regions of China when measured by GDP figures, and is renowned as one of the sub-provincial divisions in Inner Mongolia to have the most preserved Inner Mongolia’s traditional culture.
