Shanxi Pavilion has attracted 145,000 visitors since the opening of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition in the capital city's Yanqing district on April 29.
Organizers said the pavilion is divided into an interior exhibition area and a garden. The interior part, covering 100 square meters, focuses on plant landscaping and applications, as well as displays of new varieties, technologies and horticultural products from Shanxi.
The outdoor garden covering an area of 3,050 sq m is divided into five landscape areas – including a garden themed on Taihang Mountain, one on Fenhe River and another themed on Lyuliang Mountain area -- which integrates Shanxi architectural features, flowers, plants and its culture.
"The red lanterns made of floral arrangements and lights in the Shanxi exhibition area are impressive and representative, highlighting the styles of the residences of Shanxi merchants," said Zhang Yinchao, deputy secretary general of the China Flower Association, who has visited Shanxi Pavilion for the five shows.
"Some garden work, using Shanxi local brick carvings and stone carvings, are integrated with the architectural style of Shanxi," Zhang added.
