Officials from Istanbul Process countries visit Nantong

A delegation consisting of 13 government officials from countries involved in the Istanbul Process visited Nantong, a coastal city in East China’s Jiangsu province, on May 9.

The activity was organized by the Foreign Ministry with the aim of facilitating regional communication and cooperation.

During their stay in Nantong, the delegation visited local industrial parks, a shipping company, and a residential community, offering high praise for the city’s economic and social development.

An official from Uzbekistan said that he was deeply impressed by the booming manufacturing industry, while an official from Pakistan expressed his admiration for Nantong’s culture and volunteer work.

The Istanbul Process is a regional cooperation mechanism for dealing with Afghanistan. It provides an important platform for countries in the region and the wider international community to enhance communication, understanding, coordination, and cooperation with Afghanistan.

China has been actively participating in the initiative and promoting the Belt and Road Initiative among its members.

In recent years, Nantong has responded to the central government’s appeal and is making full use of its industrial strength to promote international cooperation.

The local government has offered incentives to encourage local shipping, construction, and textile companies to expand the overseas market of the Belt and Road Initiative.
