A group of journalists recently came to the Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone in Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, in eastern Jiangsu province, to cover the successful development of its hydrogen energy sector.
Their visit was part of the activities organized by the country's publicity department to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China.
The journalists came from such media organizations such as Xinhua Daily, Yangtse Evening Post, Nantong Daily, and Jiangsu TV Station.
They visited several hydrogen energy companies in Rugao, to learn about their industrial development.
Rugao has attached great importance to the development of the hydrogen energy sector since 2010, making it one of the earliest areas in China to develop a local hydrogen energy industry.
The city started construction of a hydrogen energy town in October last year, committing it to becoming a leading international hydrogen energy industrial cluster.
Last October, the city hosted the 3rd International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Congress, and the fourth congress will be held in the city from Sept 26 to 28 this year.
