Zhuhai Energy New Materials Technology started construction of four more lithium-ion battery separator assembly lines in the Gaolan Port Economic Zone on May 8, encouraged by the successful operation of 12 other lines on the same day.
Phase I, just coming into operation, is capable of producing 1 billion sq m of basement membrane yearly while Phase II is designed to add a further 300 million sq m. An advanced wet-laying technique is unique to the production lines.
The first line of Phase II is expected to be put into operation in December with full completion by February 28, 2020. By then, operative lines will cover 24 hectares (59 acres) and generate 5 billion yuan ($734 million) in combined annual output value. Reports indicate that total tax revenue will amount to 400 million yuan ($58 million).
