Key Japanese delegation visits Baotou

A Japanese delegation led by the chairman of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Chinese Commerce Commission visited Baotou city on May 7, according to Baotou Daily.

Zhao Jiangtao, deputy mayor of Baotou, extended his warm welcome to the delegation.

According to Zhao, the visit will create more opportunities for deeper exchanges between the Kansai region of Japan and Baotou, located in northern China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Officials said Baotou has a good industrial base and a complete industrial system, and has great potential and many opportunities on the road to high-quality economic development. In addition, they said, the Kansai region of Japan has a developed economic system and an advanced trading system, especially in terms of technology, energy conservation and environmental protection.

The Japanese delegation also visited a rare earth exhibition hall located at the offices of Baogang Group, the largest steel business based in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
