A conference on a national community consultation system was held in Liangxi district, Wuxi, a city in East China's Jiangsu province, on May 9.
Liangxi district authorities introduced its mechanism of inviting residents to participate and consult issues during the conference, attracting more than 200 attendees to exchange ideas.
In order to speed up construction on a modern civil administration system, the district has established a think tank made up of civil administration experts and encouraged them to help with local civil administration reform and development.
During the conference, district leaders also issued letters of engagement to experts and scholars from think tanks, as well as the China Association of Social Workers named Liangxi district a national practice center for community consultative governance.
