Shenyang Taoxian International Airport in Shenyang, capital city of Northeast China's Liaoning province, reported an increase in the number of flights and passengers during the May Day holiday from May 1 to 4.
Over the four days, the airport handled 1,520 flights and 211,386 passengers, representing year-on-year growth of 4.7 percent and 10.2 percent, respectively.
In addition, Shenyang Taoxian International Airport handled some 1,540 tons of cargo, a year-on-year increase of 4.7 percent.
Officials said the most popular domestic destinations included Zhangjiajie in Hunan province, Qingdao in Shandong province and Xishuangbanna – off of which have superb natural landscape.
Also on the list of top choices for Shenyang travelers were Cheju in South Korea, and Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya in Japan.
