For years, Hohhot in Inner Mongolia autonomous region has been promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in rural areas to help boost rural economies.
Thirty-eight entrepreneurship and innovation incubators have been established in rural areas throughout the city, accounting for 23.2 percent of all entrepreneurship and innovation incubators in Inner Mongolia.
According to Hohhot, 11 of the incubators have been included on the national list of sci-tech incubators and won recognition from the national technology authority.
The 38 incubators focus on fully utilizing local resources and increasing incomes for people living in rural areas.
The Mengshu Entrepreneurship and Innovation Incubator in Horinger New Area focuses mainly on agriculture and forestry. It aims to build itself into a platform to research, apply, and promote agricultural technologies. A total of 12 startups are reported to have already set up operations in the incubator.
